Hip Replacement & Revision Surgery
Description
Hip replacement may be considered for advanced joint damage, commonly arthritis, when pain and reduced mobility continue to affect everyday life despite appropriate non-surgical care. Revision hip replacement may be discussed if a previous implant has problems such as loosening, wear, instability, infection or bone loss. Assessment includes symptoms, medical and operation history, examination, relevant imaging and any tests needed to identify the cause. Dr. Aman Dua’s practice includes primary, complex primary and revision hip replacement. In complex revision cases, bone reconstruction or bone allograft may be considered when clinically appropriate. Not every painful hip or implant needs surgery. A consultation covers the diagnosis, alternatives, potential benefits and risks, preparation and an individualized recovery plan. Rehabilitation and recovery vary, and no outcome can be guaranteed. Book a consultation to discuss your hip symptoms or previous hip replacement.
