Knee Ligament Injury Assessment
A knee ligament injury can cause pain, swelling, reduced movement or a feeling that the knee may give way, often after a twist, fall or impact. Assessment includes your symptoms and activity goals, a knee examination and imaging when clinically indicated. Treatment depends on which structures are injured, the degree of instability, associated damage, overall health and rehabilitation needs. Options may include non-surgical care, activity changes, bracing and physiotherapy guidance. For selected posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injuries, repair or reconstruction may be discussed; a separate PCL service page provides more information. Surgery is not needed for every ligament injury. If a procedure is considered, the surgeon will explain alternatives, risks and expected rehabilitation. Recovery and return to activity vary. Book a consultation with Dr. Aman Dua to discuss your knee injury. This information is general and does not replace medical assessment.
