Robotic-Assisted Joint Replacement
Robotic assistance may be used during selected knee or hip replacement operations to support surgical planning and guide the procedure. The robot does not perform the operation independently; the surgeon plans and performs the surgery while controlling the system. Whether robotic assistance is appropriate depends on your diagnosis, anatomy, health, the planned procedure and equipment available at the treating hospital. It does not remove the usual risks of joint replacement, and it cannot guarantee a better result, less pain or faster recovery. Dr. Aman Dua will discuss the proposed approach, alternatives, potential benefits and risks during your consultation. Recovery and rehabilitation vary from person to person. Book an assessment to learn whether joint replacement, and any available assistance technology, may suit your situation. This information is general and does not replace medical advice.
